Shark Tooth Keyring
My husband's family lives in Charleston, South Carolina, near an island where you can hunt for FOSSILISED SHARKS' TEETH!!! How cool is that?!?! Check out just one afternoon's haul:
After finding all of these shark's teeth, I wanted to find something crafty to do with them. So, for that Christmas I made a whole bunch of shark tooth jewellery and key rings. For this post, I'm going to take you through how to make a shark tooth key ring!To make this key ring, you'll need:
A shark tooth
Some malleable craft wire
A key ring
Pliers
Wire cutter
How to make a Shark Tooth Key Ring
To start with, cut a piece of the craft wire approximately a metre long. Because we will be working with different shaped and sized objects, what you'll be aiming to do is to work the wire around your shark's tooth in such a way that it ends up securing the tooth on all sides. Once this is done, wind your two ends of wire together.
Once you have wound your wires together for at least a couple of centimetres, cut the ends of the wire off. Now, thread your key ring through the wound wire.
Once you've done this, bend the end around the key ring, and secure it under another piece of the wire, trimming the end where necessary.
Just like that, you've made a shark tooth key ring!
