Macramé Necklace
I've been experimenting with a lot of different uses for macramé, and jewelry pieces are some of my favourites. Here's how to make your own Macramé Necklace!
Materials
- 10 pieces of wool/cord (1m each, any colour/thickness)
- 1 piece of wool/cord (1m) for the necklace chain
Steps
-
Attach your 10 pieces of cord to the chain using Lark's Head knots. This will give you 20 working threads.
-
Tie four square knots with the central pieces.
-
Create 3 square knots on the next row, moving the outer threads aside.
-
Create 2 square knots on the following row, continuing to move the outer threads aside.
-
Create 1 square knot at the bottom to form a triangle shape.
-
Secure diagonal double half hitches along the triangle edges to define the shape.
-
Knot the sides together at the bottom point of the triangle.
-
Trim the thread ends to your desired length.
-
Adjust the chain length to fit.
